The Rain

Here stands the blue –sheded lofty hill

And below the mysteries of the younder lake

Presenting a  scenic charm to brimmingly fill

My vacant heart as much as I can take.

Differ in spirit, this hill and the lake

One erected for ever, the other does lie

Alone with beauty ; do concord they make ?

Who can mix them ? And see these two in tie ?

Only rain and rain can unify these two

This hill and the lake in torrential rain

Are in a mess ; our eyes can see them so,

Who can isolate their oneness or tie unchain ?

The rites of love are known to the rains

Only love can bring the hills to the drains.
